FREEZE - FINNISH ELECTRO/INDUSTRIAL DOCUMENTARY

The first release of Cyberware productions is the compilation-cd Freeze-Finnish Electro/Industrial Documentary. The cd features 12 more or less known Finnish electrobands. Some of them have released demos and even records and some of them are also known abroad. The rest make their first public appearance in this compilation. But the fact is that many of them sure owns the potential to became favourites to many people who listen electronic music.

Elemes Remain by [Active] Media Disease is a strong, powerful and catchy overture for this compilation. Unique vocals and variable samplecollection creates original tune for this track which most certainly is one of the best act on this cd. Need to say more.

Chaingun Operate is the first of six bands in this cd coming from the Finnish techno mecca Tampere. Their music inspired by Cyberpunk and science-fiction orientated lyrics make their music quite original. But as in the song Demons Of Delusion, they also receive their sometimes violent and bloody visions from the world of fantasy and horror.

A little bit technohouse past owns the one man project Noise Production, which shows the other side of his musical face with very industrial sounded song Physical Pain. A lot of speak samples and clips from films is the way to give a soul to this instrumental piece as to all of his music.

Shade Factory, nowadays two man project has released a maxi- cd called "Look And Flog" in the style between ebm and light industrial. Now they are working with a new, more metal orientated material. Shade Factory really has a potential to become a well-known electro"star".

The spirit of Sweating Sickness comes from the Karelian woods, myths of the Middle Ages and dark chambers of the London Dungeon. No man can say Tomorrow Never Came is a nice song, but it's sensitive melody, desperate lyrics and innocent vocals makes it's atmosphere almost touchable. Sweating Sickness is definately the most dismal and doleful band on this cd.

Advanced Art, the most well known Finnish electroband both in their native land and abroad, show their ebm roots with agressive and danceable Watch You Bleed which is taken from their debut cd. AA, as their friends call them, is signed by Poko Records, one of the biggest record labels in Finland. And with their support the band owns a lot of potential to become a worldwide favourite for every electro music lovers.

Variance has made a sourt of a cult name for themselves by making lot of gigs couple of years ago. After a short break they've done material for their cd and now their music sounds more grown up. The "spacepop" kind of music of theirs comes out very positively from this cd. You can be sure that you'll hear a lot more of them again in the future!

The musical style of the Cosmic Zone is one of the lightest and popist in this cd. The band has created their style expertly with technological videotapes, gigs and specially with their own Chromadroid-robot.

The Insult That Made A Man Out Of Mac hail from the capital Helsinki, owns a large cult following in their home town. Their huge theatral liveshow has earned a lot of positive notice and the song of theirs, Overboiled, is only one example that you have to see them live before understanding what they really mean with their music.

Neuroactive and their brilliant ebm-track Tension received so goodeactions on this cd that being already splitted up they eventually reunited their forces and continued making good and danceable electronic music to masses. Tension has certainly a lot of power to become a body hit in all over the world. The most experimental band on this compilation,

Bulimia, insist you to Look At the Man! and feel the weird atmosphere of their music. With all the fresh selfirony they look as they are someway politically orientated. But which way? That may not be clear even to themselves.

A-Tyd which has broken the Tampere-Helsinki-front(they come from the westcoast) owns both weird name and style of making music. Their debut-ep included pretty northern-America-stylish industrial but their latest demotape has mixed up even some dance rythms. The gigs of A-Tyd are usually big events, where they have draged everything from acoustic guitars to heavysingers.
